ESAT News (September 22, 2015)
Fana Broadcasting Corporation (FBC),  Ethiopian government-affiliated news outlet, reported today that 46 individuals were charged for committing crimes against humanity in Gambella region.

The report showed Gebriel Lkani Husman (Security head of Mezhang zone), Ason Kokas (head of land use), and deputy inspector Kotil Serkework (Mengesha woreda police member) were among indicted suspects for human right violations and eroding public peace.
It was reported that the crime was committed in Mazhang zone, Godere, Miti and other kebeles for two years.
The charge was submitted to the Federal High court yesterday. The court would look into the case on Monday, September 28, 2015.
ESAT on May 13, 2015 reported a skirmish at Mite, Godere, in Gambella that claimed the lives of five citizens. In addition, two individuals were severely injured.
The conflict occurred when security forces fired at protesters who were believed to have raised questions related to land grab and bad governance.
Under the pretext of attracting investors, the Ethiopian government and local administration have been expelling locals from their arable land – a means of livelihood -, and wholesale it to TPLF-affiliated individuals.
Some of the indigenous inhabitants, whose land was pillaged by TPLF/EPRDF party members, were reported to have been killed.
ESAT’s repeated attempted to contact the Ethiopian government and Gambella regional administration about the alleged massacre was unsuccessful.
