Ethiopia: Admas University Discharges Its Responsibility in Providing Trained Man Power - President Dr. Molla Tsegaye

Addis Ababa — Dr Molla Tsegay, president of the University, stated that the University has been playing its role in curbing shortage of skilled manpower in the country.
The University has been providing education opportunities for citizens at home and abroad in general, he added.
"Admas University has been playing crucial part in filling the gap for citizens who could not get the chance of admitting public universities and providing skilled manpower in various field of study," the president added.
"Admas University is not established just only for the sake of profit but also for discharging its national responsibilities," he emphasized, adding that the University has been participating in re-building Ethiopia with well trained and educated citizens who could play constructive roles in alleviating poverty.
The president also said that Admas university has provided scholarships worth of 4 million birr for 700 students who are from low-income families.
The university bought bonds worth of one million birr to contribute for the construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam, he said.
"Since its establishment in 1991, the university graduated more than 37, 000 students with various academic qualifications that it has made a commendable contribution towards capacity building," he added.
The president also mentioned that the University has been participating in researches.
Beside, the monthly and annually seminars to ensure educational quality, the University has conducted nine international Conferences.
The University has conducted researches on public services and community based developments in nine areas and handed over to concerned bodies, WIC learnt.
He also pin pointed that the University has given special attention to the participation of females.
As part of the efforts to bridge the skilled manpower gap and achieve the vision of the country, the university is expanding its services by opening new programs, he said.
Admas University currently has nine campuses at home and abroad 60 as well as 60 centers for distance education with over 17, 000 students currently.
The university offers distance education, vocational and technical education, extension and regular programs both at home and abroad, according to the president.
Admas University is among the few pioneering private Universities in the country to invest abroad including Somali Land and Punt Land.
